General Information
Johnson and Freedman, LLC, is a general practice law firm providing a full spectrum of litigation services. The firm operates mainly in the six southeast states of Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia, serving individuals, local companies, and national corporations. Our main focus is providing legal expertise in order to protect the interests of our clients. Practice Areas
In general, Johnson and Freedman concentrates on real estate and litigation matters. Our lawyers are experienced in a wide range of substantive legal areas and are well suited to manage anything from small routine cases to larger, complex disputes in both state and federal court. Our litigation department represents financial institutions in lawsuits regarding property, contract and mortgage issues, title defects, the defense of contested foreclosures, collection cases and general real estate related litigation.

The department successfully handles all types of cases in both state and federal courts. The types of cases include Fair Debt Collection Practices Act litigation, Truth in Lending litigation, wrongful foreclosures, foreclosure confirmations, wrongful evictions, real property disputes, title and contractual disputes, bankruptcy litigation, fraud cases, collection matters such as garnishments and judicial foreclosures, negligent construction, breach of contract, breach of warranty, escrow disputes, interpleaders, forfeitures, real property tax disputes, reformation actions, injuctive relief, title and property insurance disputes, condemnation proceedings, invasion of privacy, credit reporting disputes, materialmen's lien disputes, partition actions, corporate disputes and other commercial, civil litigation. In addition, we have handled several negligent and personal injury matters. Our expertise is not limited to trial court. We have prevailed on numerous appeals in state court as well as the federal circuit courts, and we currently have several appeal cases pending.

Attorneys
As the firm has grown and expanded in southeast, the litigation department has kept pace by hiring attorneys licensed in those states. Our reputation has enabled us to attract a wealth of talented individuals who have come together to create a skilled and accomplished litigation department. Each attorney brings his or her own skill set and knowledge base, broadening the firm's overall talents. With knowledge of state laws, familiarity with court proceedings, the judges, and court nuances, our attorneys are able to plan and evaluate the best course of action for each client in each case.
In addition, a highly skilled and experienced staff supports each attorney. Training and case preparation enhance research skills and acumen as the staff monitor files and take an active role in all of those cases possible. The close knit nature of the firm promotes the sharing of information providing the skills and resources necessary to pursue and achieve successful outcomes.
